NMI undertook consultations recently on the draft Cost Recovery Implementation Statement 2018-2019 (CRIS) paper on charging for NMI’s regulatory activities.
Feedback from the consultation was considered along with the Government’s cost recovery policy in developing the final CRIS, which includes fee increases for their regulatory services.
Summaries of the fee increases for Pattern Approval, Trade Measurement Licensing and Legal Metrology Authority Appointments are provided in the documents below. A comprehensive analysis of the proposed fee structures and their implementation is provided in the CRIS, now available on the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science website here: https://www.industry.gov.au/data-and-publications/national-measurement-institute-cost-recovery-implementation-statement
Amendments to the National Measurement Regulations 1999 and National Trade Measurement Regulations 2009 to implement the fee increases have now been promulgated and came in to effect from 1 July 2019.
